This does not work on jQUery 1.5+ because the xhr is replaced by the jqXHR, ie a high level version of the raw XHR. Now the question is how to get it to work with jqXHR….

Your a godsend, thank you! very hard to find any information about this issue anywhere.

Client was wondering why it was ultra bold (And its indeed light text on a dark background) and the fix you mentioned worked a treat.

Great trick! I was totally stressing about a comp I had to rework in CSS not matching up on account of the fonts being too bold.
